Description
The project involves the modernization of control, monitoring, and operating systems and devices for Esna's eleven spillway gates.
The scope of work includes the following:
Mechanical Maintenance: Maintenance of all mechanical parts, gearboxes, and water leakage prevention components for the eleven spillway gates. This includes repairing or replacing damaged parts to enhance efficiency and rehabilitate all gates. The scope also covers dewatering and drying the gates’ basins, sandblasting, and epoxy painting.
Civil Operations: Comprehensive maintenance of the concrete walls and flooring of all spillway gates' basins. This includes sandblasting, crack treatment, and epoxy painting, with the provision of skilled labor and necessary equipment.
Stop Log Maintenance: Maintenance of mechanical parts and water leakage prevention parts for all stop logs. This involves repairing or replacing damaged parts to improve efficiency. The scope also includes the rehabilitation of lifting scales for the upstream and downstream stop logs, along with sandblasting and epoxy painting.
Control Unit Steel Structure: Construction of a steel structure for the control unit to monitor and operate the spillway gates, along with the full rehabilitation of the remaining area to optimize space usage.
Suspended Bridge Restoration: Restoration of the suspended bridge which had its design approved by a certified consultant and was reinforced with additional steel to strengthen its structure. The bridge is due to be repaved with asphalt to complement the final touches of the project.
All operations involve scaffolding, welding in accordance with AWS D1.1:2000 standards, and conducting visual, magnetic, and ultrasonic welding tests.
